Let's Encrypt is a certificate authority (CA) that allows you to create an SSL certificate for your domain at no cost (this service is included for all hosting accounts).
An SSL certificate is needed for your website to be accessible through a secure connection (this is particularly necessary when exchanging personal or sensitive information with your site visitors, such as passwords). A secure connection is enabled when the browser shows a padlock symbol in the address bar and the site address begins with https:// (note the 's' character which stands for secure).
To activate a free Let's Encrypt certificate for your site, follow the steps below.
Once that's done you will see a confirmation message letting you know that the SSL certificate has been successfully installed on your domain name.
You can then access your website by typing https://www.yourdomain.com in your browser which will load your site with a secure connection.
